A Little About Us!

Erinn (BerNinja):

My Bernina experience started on a sunny day in Fairbanks, AK. It was not particularly sunny for me, but it quickly changed around. Being upset about an incident involving the adoption of a dog from the pound, I headed to the quilt store for a fabric fix. I didn't exit the store with fabric, instead I walked out of the store with a Virtuosa 153QE. Being very repentant about my purchase I went online to see if I made a rather large mistake. Turns out I purchased a machine that was highly recommended as well as a great brand. Phew! That was in 2002. Since then I’ve added a 730e, 630e, 230PE, and 1300 mtc to the corral. I’m a quilter though you can sometimes find me making a curtain or a real easy 3 seam bag. I grew up in Alberta, and I began sewing as a girl and took home economics classes in junior high and high school.
I'm an environmental professional by day. When I am not quilting or working, I enjoy the outdoors and am especially fond of cycling. Oh, we did get a dog and I'm glad we waited for him. Guinness was able to come stay with us in 2005 after moving out of his home. He is a nine year old chocolate lab.

Monica (mollyshark):

I started sewing in the 6th grade when I took a class at the Singer Sewing Center in Toledo, Ohio. My best friend's mother could sew up a storm and I thought hey, I can do that, too. I don't think I've ever reached her level of perfection. I'm not that persnickety! A Bernina was always my dream machine, having lived through a couple Whites, until I finally splurged on a Bernina 1100 and a 3-thread serger. I moved up in the serger world several times before getting another sewing machine. Now my stock consists of that same Bernina 1100 (who can part with it), an Artista 200, a Baby Lock Evolve serger, and a Baby Lock Professional embroidery machine (6 thread). Also, lately, a bunch of small magnifying devices and more "reading" glasses than I could have imagined. I've never been a quilter. Maybe one of these days.
I live out in what USED to be country before all these people built houses, but still hold on to my goats, pigs, birds, and hounds and run my company doing data analysis out of my home. Also love to cook on my Big Green Eggs. Down in the sewing house is a laptop so I can keep one paw and one eye on what is going on while I happily sew away. Recently I've fallen in love with my Artista 200 after never really bonding with it. Looking forward to seeing what the new 8 series will do.
