Problem with design/pull compensation

The design I am working with is an MP design, from the 2008 IEC.

I am trying to modify this frame slightly... it is im08d07. Hopefully this link will take you to it: http://iec.marthapullen.com/Club/2008/a ... es-lg.html

I just want to change the pull compensation from the default (2.0) in my software (Artista version 6) to 3.5. I have tried this a few times, and each time the at least some of the underlay stitches end up on top of the other stitches after the pull compensation is adjusted. Does anyone have any ideas on a solution to this problem? TIA!

Is there a way to kill the underlay all together and then redo it from scratch using the pull compensation you want? I've discovered that frequently works better than trying to mod an existing structure.

I considered that idea, but then came upon another thought... I went to settings, fabric settings, and told it I was stitching on medium weight terry. This, according to help, would automatically adjust pull compensation and fine tune it otherwise. I don't know why but I never think to do this. It didn't goof up the design and it stitched fine on the terry. I will post pics of the towels later.

Thanks for your help Molly... oh, and I would have had trouble starting over on this design... still stuck in digitizer kindergarten here!

Doris, I actually had a stamp made with that on it. I don't have it yet, but expect I will be picking it up tomorrow when I go to NY. It is round, with a vintage sewing machine in the middle, and then my "brand name" ;) "PinkerPaws" at the top, and then "The Better Late Than Never Gift Co. Inc." going around the outside of the circle! I have another one... a return address one that has "The Tardy Scribe" and then my return address for cards and letters. Sad case I am. But my sense of humour is more or less intact.
